Probably the kind of thing one should give a heads up on before the action starts, but things been weird, yo.
In client work I’ve been writing a commissioned novel that I should be able to share more on in a few months. Cyberpunk, ecopunk, a few other punks, and great fun!
Meanwhile my wife and I have been moving ourselves, the two Wild Boys and our Princess Twins to a new home, with all the complications that entails.
Thus I’ve not had much time or bandwidth for more than cursory engagement, promo, and to do more than keep in touch with and do short sprints on Hero’s Metal 3. Certainly no time for quality videos…
That said, personal projects are going well, considering. In general HM3 is primary and all other aspects of the indie career come after that as time allows. I’ve even managed to steal some time to consider the long-awaited and occasionally mentioned pulprev/superversive/ironage game I’d like to do. Most recently that’s been considering changing the game type from a CCG to a roguelike (various reasons for that). More on this project will have to wait till its place in the schedule later this year.
Apart from work and work plans, I’ve got a handful of anthologies to push:
Swords and Maidens allows men to rescue their ladies via traditional means (swords and some bloodshed) while respecting the agency of each.
Sidearm and Sorcery pits regular Joes against supernatural forces. One pithy pitch I liked was “Conaneqsue Urban Fantasy”! My hero seeks to offer a dark fae the only gift it deserves - DEATH!
And finally, ANVIL, the Iron Age Magazine #1 is funded and already hit several flex goals! Among several great stories and a high-profile comic teaser, it includes a short story of mine that picks up a winding path into my larger Revelation Galaxy setting that you may have seen me mention before…
So there’s no shortage of reading and fun to be had, and like I always say, every sale and review makes the writer write faster!
Thanks all for your reading, support and patience. Peace!
